Where to find Count Geanor
You’ll find Count Geonor in Ogham Manor, which you’ll head to during The Mad Wolf of Ogham. He’s on the lowest level of the manor, so you’ll need to traverse three levels of it to eventually find him.

Count Geonor is the first boss in Path of Exile 2 with distinct phases. He begins the fight as a werewolf, changing between his human and wolf forms, but ends it a hulking abomination.
Phase One
In the first phase of the fight, you’ll have plenty of straightforward boss attacks to avoid. Geonor will charge at you, skewering you to the wall if he catches you, or he’ll attempt to freeze you with an ice spear. Both of these attacks are avoidable if you sidestep them.
After you’ve damaged him enough, Geonor will begin following up his charge attack with a swift swipe attack. That attack hits only at medium or melee range. It'll pass over you if you’re just out of melee range. He’ll also try to trap you in ice before dropping a huge attack within. You can escape by running out of the cone. Weave between these attacks and hit Geonor with everything you’ve got. His heavy armor will make this tricky if you’re a physical damage fighter, so break his armor if you can.
When Geonor takes on his wolf form, he’ll first stab his sword into the ground. Then, he’ll transform, summon reinforcements, and dart around the battlefield. He has two main attacks: charging forward while spraying blood out for moderate damage or slamming down from above for heavy damage.

When you see his wolf form burn away, start running. A large red circle will form on the ground where he’s about to slam down. If you’re at the center of that circle when he lands, you will likely not get back up.
While Geonor is in wolf form, focus on taking out the reinforcements and avoiding attacks. He's much easier to attack in his human form.
Phase Two
When Count Geonor gets to half health, he’ll call on Oriana to release the writhing mass of tentacles in the cage. She does not, betraying him and escaping with her pet. Enraged, he turns into a corrupted abomination.
This abomination has several attacks that he announces beforehand:
- "Freezing Gale/Chilling Frost": He sprays ice that will chill you, slowing you down for his melee attacks.
- "Solstice of Pain": He raises his blade as ice beams rain down from the ceiling.
- "I smell your blood": He stabs his sword down, and blotches of ice form before they’re replaced by spikes that shoot up from the ground.
Between these attacks, he’ll also do the same slam attack he did in wolf form. Again, when you see his form burn away, start running. Stay well out of the red circle that forms on the ground.
Geonor will occasionally disappear and summon a fog cloud that leaves only a small circle in the middle of the battlefield. Reinforcements will come out of the mist, and Geonor will charge through the circle every four seconds. Use any crowd control effects you have to keep the wolves slowed or vulnerable. You need to settle into a rhythm where you crowd-control the wolves, dodge Geonor, and then bring them down. Rinse and repeat that pattern for 30 seconds. Any remaining wolves will disintegrate.

When Geonor gets below 25% health, he’ll take on a new move that summons red beams up from the floor. He can do this during the fog cloud, too. You need to take that last quarter of health out fast, or all these attacks will overwhelm you. Now’s the time to stun him. Even if you have to take some hits to do it, hit him hard and fast to stun him. While stunned, you can hit him with your best attacks to bring him down quickly.
Count Geanor, the Putrid Wolf rewards
When Geonor is finally defeated, The Hooded One will appear to interrogate him. They learn of Oriana’s next step, the Vasteri desert. Then, The Hooded One ends Geonor’s suffering. He drops some randomized loot, which usually includes a few orbs.
